YHWH: An equal opportunity redeemer
I take issue with most who teach about election, because I have seen a preponderance of WRONG teaching about it. Along with misunderstanding the word “election” as it appears in scripture, the words "chosen" and "grace" have also been misunderstood, and therefore wrongly “taught”. The words "foreknowledge", "prepared", and "predestination" were also interjected to help carry this confusion and its resultant destruction to a perverse climax. The prevalent “teachings” I’ve seen along these lines have all been blasphemously elitist at worst, and lacking in comprehension of the English language at best. Teachings along these lines suggest "selective salvation." (See my post, "They Want Us To Believe WHAT?!" above for a fairy tale analogy of Calvinist theology.)
May I just say that this false doctrine is just FREAKING NUTS?
The best course of action for anyone is to read what the bible says (the real one), lay John Calvin to rest, and employ as much of your command of the English language as has been made possible per formal education. Who needs John Calvin, or anyone else (e.g.Paul) for that matter, when you’ve got the one who did the choosing and electing to tell you all about it? Below is every scripture in the bible containing the word ELECT (omitting those passages from Paul's letters since the confusion first arose as a result of his doctrines).
Isaiah 42:1
Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. [THIS SPEAKS OF A SINGLE PERSON – Y’SHUA HAMASHIACH (Jesus the Christ) – SERVANT, HIM, HE]
Isaiah 45:4
For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me. [SELF-EVIDENT, IS IT NOT?
Isaiah 65:9
And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. [THROUGH YAH’S MEANS OF A ‘BUILT –IN DICTIONARY’ IT IS A PROGRESSION OF UNDERSTANDING TO GET A DEFINITION: JACOB = ISRAEL, JUDAH COMES OUT OF JACOB (ISRAEL), THE ELECT AND THE SERVANTS ARE THE SAME. THE INHERITOR IS HAMASHIACH (THE MESSIAH); THE ELECT IN THIS CASE REFERS BOTH TO THE SINGULAR INHERITOR, Y’SHUA, AND THE COLLECTIVE INHERITORS, THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.]
Isaiah 65:22
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. [SELF-EVIDENT – THIS IS OLD TESTAMENT, AND “THEIR HANDS” SIGNIFIES “MY PEOPLE” – ONCE AGAIN, THE USE OF PROGRESSIVE DEFINITIONS: MY PEOPLE = MINE ELECT.]
ELECT, from the Hebrew, bachiyir – select: --choose, chosen one, elect.
NOW, LOOKEE HERE! YAH HATH CHOSEN THE NATION OF ISRAEL!
Deuteronomy 14:2
For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Matthew 24:24

Matthew 24:31
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. [THIS IS SPEAKING ON THE COMING OF HAMASHIACH (THE MESSIAH) – NOT OF THE RAPTURE. YAH WILL GATHER HIS ELECT FROM BOTH HEAVEN AND EARTH.
Mark 13:20
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. [START A FEW VERSES EARLIER IN VERSE 14 – THIS IS TALKING ABOUT THE TRIBULATION PERIOD AND OBSERVANT JEWS WOULD RECOGNIZE THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION FOR WHAT IT IS AND WOULD FLEE] – THE ELECT ARE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL – THE CHOSEN ARE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL]
Mark 13:22
For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. [THE ELECT IN THIS CASE ARE THE JEWISH PEOPLE. JUST HOW MANY RABBIS AND OBSERVANT JEWS DO YOU THINK WOULD FALL FOR ANY OF THIS STUFF? GENTILES HAVE FALLEN FOR THE “SUNDAY SABBATH” AND A HOST OF OTHER ROMISH TRADITIONS, “HOLIDAYS” AND FALSEHOODS; THE JEWS HAVE NOT.]
Mark 13:27

Luke 18:7

The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth; [OBVIOUSLY, JOHN HERE IS WRITING TO MIRIAM (MARY) – SEE THE NEXT VERSE….
II John 1:13
The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen. [JOHN IS REFERRING PERHAPS TO ELIZABETH. THOUGH ELIZABETH WAS MARY’S COUSIN, SHE WOULD ALSO QUALIFY FOR THIS HONORING TITLE (ELECT) BY JOHN BECAUSE OF HER BEING THE MOTHER OF JOHN THE BAPTIST – THE VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, SAYING, PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD – AND KNOWN AS A SISTER IN THE FAITH.]

We can certainly say that both Miriam (Mary) and Elisheba (Elizabeth) were both selected to carry in their wombs Y’shua and the prophet John the Baptist.
